Winter Activities

Really learn to appreciate the beauty of winter by exploring Council Grounds! Backcountry cross country skiing, snowshoeing and winter hiking are all available at CGSP. The skiing trail is a shared with snowshoers and hikers via separate lanes. These trails are groomed periodically.

Winter parking is available near the park office. The park road is plowed through the winter. Campgrounds roads are closed in the off season.

A warning: The park does not monitor ice conditions on the lake or river.
