If you like to get out on the water then Council Grounds is the place for you. Water skiing, jet skiing, and pontooning on the lake are favorite ways to enjoy summer at the park. The boat launch has been recently improved and there is a parking area close by.
Canoeing and kayaking is a great way to enjoy the 618 acre Lake Alexander and the Wisconsin River with canoes and kayaks available for rent at the park office.
Also of note, there are two canoe / kayak portages in the park to bypass the Alexander dam found next to the park.
Get on a boat and fish for northern pike, walleye, smallmouth bass, muskies, yellow perch, bluegills and black crappies while at Council Grounds! In addition, great fishing can also be found near the Alexander Hydro Plant and an accessible fishing pier is available on the northwest side of the park near the boat landing.
Anglers of any age may check out basic fishing equipment free of charge at the park office. This equipment was donated by the Tackle Loaner Program. Call the park office to find out what equipment is available.
Please remember that anyone age 16 and over must have a Wisconsin fishing license to fish.
