Earth Day 2025

On April 26, 2025, the Friends of Council Grounds State Park assisted the DNR staff at Council Grounds State Park with the DNR’s Earth Day Work Play Day.

Twelve Friends of Council Grounds State Park, 5 adults and 4 children from the community joined together to collect litter along all the park roads, clear the green spaces both at the beach and shelter house of debris. All this work was completed in the scheduled 3 hours. The park is even more beautiful at this event’s end.

It was a great event. The participants had a wonderful feeling of fulfillment and accomplishment at the end of the event.

Thanks go out to the Friends, community members and DNR park staff who helped. Special thanks to the park property manager who distributed park maps to identify each work group’s area of work responsibility.

The Friends are already making plans to assist the DNR with a similar event to celebrate Earth Day in 2026 and, as always, the community is invited to join us.
